Description

The STRESS Skimmer is a weir lip skimmer capable of operation in the open sea. With a <30" draft it is also very capable in the shallow water environment. It is designed to cope with debris contaminated oil and emulsions of medium to high viscosities in the STRESS II (DOP 250 pump) configuration and has a very high throughput when configured as a STRESS I (CCN 150 pump). The surface hopper leads directly into the suction of the installed pump. The installation of either pump into the the floatation frame is a simple 10 minute process. In operation, vertical adjustments of the weir lip to the oil/water interface are manually controlled. Either pump may be removed from the floatation frame for use in conventional pumping roles.

Handling/Operation

Use of this skimmer as part of a VOSS system requires the vessel to have a deck crane/boom to deploy and retrieve the unit. It is most effectively used in conjunction with a "J" or "V" boom configuration.
